Following the arrest of two men in Ross, last Tuesday evening, after a burglary at a house in the town earlier in the day, Andrew Ramsay Murdoch, 41, of Broad Street, Ross, was sentenced to a total of eight weeks in prison by Herefordshire Magistrates' Court.

On April 18th, Murdoch pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods, which were items of jewellery, in Ross on April 16th, and was sentenced to six weeks imprisonment.

He was given further one week consecutive sentences after pleading guilty to theft of £17 worth of groceries from Spar, in Hereford, on April 6th, and a separate charge of theft, of a joint of beef worth £18.57 from Sainsbury's, in Ross, on February 23rd, after pleading guilty at a previous hearing on March 13th.
