The winners of the Ross-on-Wye Carnival colouring competition were presented with their prizes in the Market Place last week.
Members of the Carnival Committee were delighted at the response to the competition although it was very difficult to select the winning entry from so many wonderful designs.
The winner’s design will also be used as this year’s front page of the 40th Anniversary Carnival Programme.
Erika White from REHAU presented the first prize, an iPad Mini2 to George Murray, aged 11, of Ashfield Park School.
The second prize, a canvas print worth £50 donated by Kodak Express, was presented to Rhodri Stemp, age 10, of Bridstow CE Primary School.
Daniel Pearce of Tudor Sweets presented the third prize, a sweet dispenser to CJ Shipley, age 11 of Ashfield Park Primary School.
Charlotte Reynolds of the Ross Gazette, which is publishing the carnival brochure said George was a very worthy winner, but it had been a very tough decision.
Andrew Buffery said he was very grateful to everyone who sponsored the competition, especially REHAU who gave such a generous prize, and all the children who took part, as well as the parents and schools who encouraged them.
