Members of the planning committee of Ross-on-Wye Town Council will consider the Draft Sustainability and Transformation Plan for the NHS in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Councillor Chris Bartrum asked for a Notice of Motion to be added to the agenda for the Ross Town Council meeting on December 12th. He said: “Protecting services at Ross Community Hospital was one of the priorities in the Ross Town Plan. We resolve that the Council will take a full part in the consultation in order to protect the interests of patients.”
It was agreed to pass the consultation document onto the planning committee who will report back to full council.
Councillor Phil Cutter said: “A lot of money was spent to put the hospital there - who wants to see it moved? No-one.”
Councillor Daniel Lister pointed out that the Consultation is in very early stages. He said that there will be a roadshow at the Community Hospital on January 9th where members of the public will be able to find out more.
He said this is a five year plan, which is a sensible procedure like businesses. He suggested a working group could be set up which would look into the detail and give it more scrutiny.
It was agreed that the planning committee will consider it but, if needed, a working party could then be formed.
