After the ceremony to grant the Freedom of Ross to The Rifles, at the Ropewalk, they exercised their right to march through the town, from Royal Parade to the Larruperz Centre. Leading the procession, on Saturday, July 13th, was the Salamanca and Waterloo Band and Bugles of The Rifles and also in the procession were members of the Hereford and Worcester Army Cadet Force.

They marched at their, faster than other regiments', pace of 140 paces to the minute, along Gloucester Road, which was lined with cheering crowds. The Salute was taken by Lady Darnley, the Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire, Major Richard Wood, Major General Tim Radford and the Mayor of Ross, Councillor Chris Bartrum. They were flanked by the Standard Bearers of the Royal British Legion.
