A PUBLIC consultation is being held over plans to create a new residential development at Marsh Farm, Ross-on-Wye.
Landra Developments have announced the launch of a public consultation to be held at the Larruperz Community Centre between 3pm and 7.30pm today, Wednesday, July 1.
The developer states that the proposed plans would deliver 156 high-quality homes, including up to 40 per cent much-needed affordable housing, set within publicly accessible landscaped green space, with play areas and biodiversity at its heart.
The Marsh Farm site is located close to the new Ross Enterprise Park and its proposals have been shaped to make the most of this sustainable location, creating strong pedestrian links and integrating the existing Public Right of Way into the design.
A spokesperson for Landra Developments said the company is committed to working collaboratively with the local community and that the consultation provides an early opportunity for people to comment before an outline planning application is submitted to Herefordshire planners.
The spokesperson added: “There is a substantial unmet housing need in Herefordshire, not least for affordable housing.
“Whilst ensuring our proposals will integrate into the potential wider allocation due shortly, we have sought to design a scheme that respects the existing neighbouring properties and provides new publicly accessible open space for the wider community to enjoy.
“Community engagement is an important part of this process, and we encourage residents to share their views. The feedback we receive will be important in shaping the outline planning application we submit later this summer.”
Members of the project team will be available to discuss the proposals at the drop in event at the Larruperz Community Centre.
The project website landra-newhomes-ross.co.uk has detailed information on the proposals as well as an online feedback form.
All comments received by the consultation deadline will be carefully reviewed and used to help refine the final planning application.
