Staff and customers of City Plumbing Supplies took on a team of staff from SPP Pumps of Coleford on May 21st to raise money for Childline. With players paying to play and a raffle a total of £320 was raised.
With varying degrees of ages and talent throughout both teams, it was a close and enjoyable encounter. The game finished 3-2 to SPP Pumps with the last kick of the game being from the penalty spot. The penalty was calmly placed by 64 year old Eric Reddan, who retired from SPP the day before and turned 65 the day after the game. The penalty was given when Gary Hurcombe was tackled in the box by fresh air in the last few seconds of the game.
SPP took the lead through a Paul Chandler Goal. City Plumbing Supplies fought back with goals from Jordan Marshall and Craig Warden before Liam Marley equalised with ten minutes to go.
We would like to thank match sponsor Wavin, all players and spectators, Broadwell Football Club for the use of their facilities and to the match officials Chris Powles and Keith Scriven who contributed to the spirit of the game.
