The Village of Linton Trust (VoLT) held a Pumpkin Party and Autumn Fayre in the grounds of The Alma Inn at Linton, ner Ross-on-Wye, on Saturday, October 29th.
Landlords Dan and Gemma Evans served mulled wine amd the event was attended by around 150 people, with many of the little people in fancy dress.
Pre-carved pumpkins were on offer, together with a carve your own pumpkin table for children. The winner of the pumpkin carving competition was judged by Mrs Sandie Von Sommeren.
Attendees were offered home-made cordials, jams, chutneys and marmalade to purchase, together with bread supplied by The Forest Bakehouse, and local cheeses, with buns and cakes baked locally. Delicious home-made toffee apples also proved popular.
There were games for both young and old to enjoy including Vampire Do-nut Bobbing, Pumpkin Patch Pick, Witches Broomstick Wishes, Spooky Skittles and The Evil Eyeball Challenge.
Cameron won the hamper of goodies with the closest guess for the number of eyeballs in the box and Russell Denbig was the fortunate winner of the Hallowe’en Hamper.
As darkness descended and weary witches, warlocks and vampires headed homewards, many were heard to say that a jolly good time was had by all.
