Headteacher Nigel Griffiths and the staff at the John Kyrle High School,who had worked so hard to help their pupils achieve A level success, were delighted when the results were anounced on Thursday. The school's largest ever entry, 107 pupils, achieved a 100% pass rate at A Level, including 60% A*- B grades and 87% at A* - C with success across all subject areas.

Notable successes for the school, which was entering students for the first time as an Academy, include Head Girl, Maddy Maloney, who will read English and Drama at Warwick; Head Boy, Alex Baker, to read Law at Plymouth; Deputy Head Girl, Hannah Kearns, to read Veterinary Science at Bristol; Dan Cox to read Engineering at Christ's College, Cambridge; Megan Godden to read Veterinary Science at Nottingham; Nick Bricknell to read Natural Science at Selwyn College, Cambridge; Peter Lamb to read Actuarial Mathematics at Leeds; Eleanor Gibson-Forty to read Biology at Cardiff; Matthew Henshall to read Mathematics at Warwick and Beth Hill to read Biology at Nottingham.

Students from Ross at Monmouth Boys School and Haberdashers School for Girls, Monmouth Comprehensive, Hereford Cathedral School and Hereford Sixth Form College were also celebrating their A-level successes.
