Rossbeerfest is the fourth Beer and Cider Festival being held on the bank of the River Wye in Ross, in line with the early May Bank Holiday. Showcasing locally produced beers and ciders, in a new, large, undercover ‘beerhall’ marquee, the event is being organised as a Charity Fundraiser by Ross Lions and Ross Rotary Clubs.

The festival opens on Saturday, April 29th at 12 noon, and continues until 11pm that evening, then reopens on Sunday, April 30th at 12pm until 10pm. Entry is £5 which includes a free glass and festival guide. Tickets are already selling well.

Tokens can then be purchased to use for obtaining beers and ciders (cash only). New for 2017 is a Prosecco bar which is already generating a lot of interest.

There will be new beers to try alongside some favourites from previous years. ‘Old Prickly’ will certainly be back to show support for the ‘hedgehog’ theme. Traditional ciders will sit alongside new flavours – often only available at festivals.

Local live music includes well-known and popular bands such as Duncan Mccorkindale, the Forfeits, OCD and Rogwort. Headlining on Saturday night are Taffy was a Thief and on Sunday Crockers Ash Scratch Band will provide a fantastic finale.

Hot food and snacks will be available, supplied by the Ross-on-Wye Rowing Club as the festival is on their site, postcode HR9 7BU.

Full details, maps and updates can be found on the website www.rossbeerfest.org where tickets can also be purchased. See updates on Rossbeerfest Facebook page and Twitter @Rossbeerfest.
