The Moody Cow, at Upton Bishop, which is run by publican Chris Burgess and his wife, Dawn, is the winner of the ‘Best Food Offer’ category at the annual Awards for Excellence run by the Ei Group, the UK’s largest owner and operator of community pubs.

The Moody Cow strives to ensure customers have the best experience when they visit his pub, including superb quality food created by Head Chef, Tom Piper.

Ei Group Chief Executive Simon Townsend said: “The majority of people say one of the most important factors that would make them choose one pub over another is high quality food. Chris and his team recognise this, and have worked hard to provide locals and people from further afield with a top-quality food offer.”

The Ei Group Awards for Excellence recognise and celebrate the achievements across the Group, which operates some 4,400 pubs in England and Wales. Each pub faced scrutiny from a judging panel made up of industry experts and senior figures before site visits were conducted by pub expert Phil Dixon.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
