MADAM, THE organisers for the Red Cross Appeals week, May 2nd – 8th, would like to thank the people of Ross and surrounding districts for their wonderful generosity towards this deserving charity and for helping make the appeal a success. The total amount raised this year is £2992.46 and this money will be used by local Red Cross services.
Organisers would like to express their gratitude to: the collectors in the area, who stood for many hours outside Sainsburys, Boots and Dorothy Perkins – all of them voluntarily giving their time, Wilton Garage, Daff-y-Nant (Spar Garage), Labels, Mervyn James and NatWest Bank for welcoming the collectors onto their premises, to all who supported Marlene, organising coffee mornings and door-to-door collections, and to Jean who organised collectors for Daff-y-Nant garage. A special thank you must be extended to Janet Flowers and David Baker for all their help.
The Red Cross is always looking for extra help with transport and escorts, clubs for the elderly and disabled and first aid cover at public events.
