Walkers and motorists who need help from the emergency services in the Cannop Valley in the Forest of Dean are celebrating the installation of a new phone mast.
EE are in the final stages of erecting a 4G mobile phone mast for the emergency services at Pygmy Pinetum Nurseries.
The mast is designed to cover the whole of Cannop Valley which is currently a mobile phone black spot.
This means that anyone using a mobile phone on the EE network will be able to make phone calls and all phone users, on any network, will be able to call the emergency services.
Angela Parker of Pygmy Pinetum Nurseries told the Ross Gazette: “This is great news for all of us who live here, victims of accidents, hikers, bikers, walkers and generally anyone who gets lost.
She said there are very few days which go by without someone knocking on their door asking to use a landline as their is no signal on their mobile.
