The Reverend Robin Noble, Padre and member of the 31st RAF Squadron, led the Commemoration at the Old Gore Cross on Remembrance Sunday.

Clive Pideaux, a member of the 31st Squadron, read the names of the 24 local people commemorated on the Cross. 19 gave their lives in the First World War and five in the Second World War.

Penny Bailey, a local resident, had researched the lives of the three Wilmot brothers who were killed in the First World War and read a poignant account of them and also a short history of the Cross.

The service was well attended by members of the 31st Squadron and many locals.
