Dear Editor,

What a great shame that you felt that you had to report in such explicit detail the sad death of poor Mr Moore in a recent Ross Gazette. Who needs to know? Did you not consider how humiliating this might be for his family? Don’t you think it would have been kinder to respect their privacy at such a time, and his? I just hope that people reading it will be gentler with his memory and consider what factors in his short life might have led him down such a tragically lonely road. You don’t actually have any public duty to report in this way, and I do hope that you will guard your pen a bit more in the future.

Editor’s Note,

The Ross Gazette understands that sudden death and inquests are distressing for families and friends of the deceased. However it is one of the duties of a local newspaper to report on the courts and their findings.
