Bernard Hackett Court in Ross-on-Wye, has recently refurbished their communal lounge and kitchen area.
The Court consists of 40 properties, all of which are one bedroom flats for retirement housing, which also provides regular social activities.
Through the asset management of the Court’s rented income, they have paid for a new oven and kitchen counter, as well as a newly decorated lounge and brand new chairs.
Most of the residents attended the opening (apart from those on holiday!) and enjoyed a massive celebratory feast of food and drink.
The Chairman of the Committee, Ellen Layson, gave a short speech and their oldest resident, Phyllis, who is 98 years old, cut the ribbon and declared the newly refurbished building “officially open!”
They also sold their former furniture, making a total of £300 which will go towards future projects.
