Dear Editor,

I am sending this letter about parking in my street at Smallbrook Gardens, as people shopping are parking here then going into town.

I went out in my car recently but when I returned I could not get a space and had to park across the road. I am a disabled driver and could not get the shopping out of my car as I cannot carry heavy stuff far. By the time I was able to get my shopping it was defrosting.

There are also a lot of elderly people living here who have carers every four hours, every day, who need to park but cannot. We also have family and friends visiting us who cannot park. We also need spaces for emergency vehicles and paramedics.

Last week someone parked half way across the pavement on a corner and a person in a wheelchair had to go on the grass to get past. We told the police but by the time they came the car had gone.

Please could the Ross Gazette get someone to take notice of this matter,

J Murdoch, Ross-on-Wye

Editor’s note:?Councillor Phil Cutter, one of the ward councillors for this area, told the Gazette that he is already looking at this issue. He is exploring the options which are available for the benefit of the residents. This may include residents’ parking permits.
