Part of the riverside footpath in Ross-on-Wye, next to the Hope and Anchor pub, is currently closed due to Waterwork Network Maintenance.
Contractors are working for Welsh Water to “renew service” to a couple of houses, which is unrelated to the recent frosty weather.
The services began on Tuesday, December 12th and are said to be completed by Friday, December 15th.
Some of the barriers are currently knocked down, whether this is due to weather or people impatient to pass, is unclear.
A spokesperson from Welsh Water said: “I have passed on the information to the contractors, and said to put sandbags on the barriers as soon as possible, to make the area safe.”
“The work is due for completion by the end of Friday, December 15th.”UPDATE: The maintenance is now said to be due for completion next week.A Welsh Water spokesperson said: “We are renewing a water supply pipe on Rope Walk in Ross-on-Wye to improve water pressure for customers living there.
