The Royal visit and Gilpin 2020 Festival launch on Tuesday, November 5th will mean some roads in the town centre will be closed and parking restrictions will be in place on others.

Ross Town Council is hosting the event and has warned that parking is likely to be in high demand and alternative routes may become congested so it is advisable to avoid driving into town between 9am and 2pm if possible.

New Street (Corn Exchange) car park will be closed for the day. The owners of the Chase Hotel have kindly agreed to open the hotel’s car park between 9am and 3.45pm.

On street parking restrictions will operate in New Street, Broad Street, High Street and Alton Street (from Walford Road to Merrivale Lane).

Broad Street and New Street will be closed to traffic from 9am.

Palace Pound will be closed to traffic from 10.30am.

Copse Cross Street will be shut to northbound traffic from 10.30am, but traffic along Gloucester Road will be able to exit northbound towards Walford.

Northbound traffic from the Walford Road will be diverted via Alton Street. Road closures are expected to be lifted by 4pm at the latest.
