The Highways Agency is advising road users that essential resurfacing, road stud and road marking work will be taking place along the A40 between the A4137 and M50/A40/A449, Travellers Rest Roundabout, and will involve overnight closures.
The eastbound carriageway will be closed for thirteen nights, from Tuesday 27 August to Monday 14 September, between the A40/A4137 junction and the M50/A40/A449 junction at Travellers Rest.
The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am Mondays to Fridays except where noted:
From Tuesday 27 August to Monday 2 September, between the A40/A4137 overbridge and A40 Wilton island roundabout.
From Tuesday 3 September to Tuesday 10 September between A40 Wilton island roundabout and A40 Overross roundabout.
On Saturday 7 and Saturday 14 September between A40 Overross roundabout and M50/A40/A449 Travellers Rest roundabout.
The Westbound carriageway will be closed for one night on Wednesday 11 September between the A40/A137 Overbridge and A40/A49 Wilton roundabout for resurfacing work.
During the closures all diversions will be clearly signed.
A Highways Agency spokesperson said: "The resurfacing work will keep the A40 safe and reliable. We have planned this essential work in order to minimise the disruption to road users."
