Four members of the Ross-on-Wye based youth theatre group, X-entricity, were presented with Roscars recently.
At a meeting of Ross Rotary Club at the Chase Hotel on Monday, June 4th, President Richard Williams presented the 2018 acting awards. These awards were judged on the November 2017 performance of ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert. They were presented to Lucas Abbott (Tick/Mitzi) for Best Actor, Charlotte Green (Diva) for Best Actress, Matt Jones (Young Bernadette) for Best Support Actor and Beth Smith (Cynthia) for Best Support Actress.
X-entricity Producer, Jane Hewson, also attended the ROSCAR presentation and graciously accepted a donation from the club to support the work of the charity. Jane thanked Ross Rotary Club for all their support to X-entricity both financially and by attendance at their performances.
All the ROSCAR winners were equally delighted with their awards and they individually described and explained what being part of X-entricity has meant to them, irrespective of whether they had long term ambitions in the performance arts or not. It was a very uplifting and enjoyable evening for everyone who attended.
Ross Rotary Club meets every Monday evening 6:30pm for 7:00pm at the Chase Hotel and as a guest, or a potential member, or if you just want to find out more about the Club, you’ll be made very welcome. For more information visit their website at: www.rossrotary.com
