Ross CC First XI travelled to Hanley Castle on May 21st and after winning the toss, asked the hosts to bat first. Opener Rory Matthews (42) and number four Freddie Lechmere (57) were the top run scorers in a total of 249 for 10 in 44.2 overs.
For the visitors Harry King took seven wickets to return outstanding figures of (11-1-52-7), but too many bowlers failed to control the run rate and gave away far too many extras. In reply Jack Evans (62) was the top scorer and he was backed up by Harry King (38) and Tony Leslie (29).
Wickets were shared by the home bowlers with Will Chambers (13-3-48-4), Chris Duckworth (12.5-2-42-3) and Ian Hobbs (12-0-43-2) leading the way.
Given 55 overs to reach the target the Ross innings closed with 7 balls left as they were bowled out for 210.
