The AGM of the Ross Action Committee was an ideal opportunity for the committee to give thanks to the Ross Gazette and all our readers who supported the campaign for a new minibus.
The meeting took place at Ross Court on June 5th, and was very well supported. Chairman, David Rose, gave a report of the year and said that the crowning glory was the purchase of the new minibus. He thanked the Ross Gazette for spearheading the campaign and it was reported that the passengers are finding it very comfortable, which makes their outings even more enjoyable.
President of the Committee, Rosemary Rigby told the Ross Gazette that, as always, she is looking for a few more volunteers to act as drivers or companions. She said if anyone could offer to help occasionally it would give her someone to fall back on.
She said that people often ask how to nominate someone to be a passenger. District nurses and GPs can put names forward but many come from word of mouth recommendations, and residents of the Ross area can put themselves forward, or nominate a neighbour, The service is for the elderly, blind or handicapped of Ross and District.
Anyone who wishes to act as a driver or companion, or would like to be considered for a place on the bus should call Miss Rigby on 01981 540477.
