Ross-on-Wye Angling Club have reopened their stretches of the River Wye for angling, following some much needed rain and lower water temperatures.

Signs were put up along the river bank saying that they took the decision, due to high temperatures and low water levels, to stop all angling on their sections of the River Wye, including the day ticket section in the town. This came into effect on Monday, July 23rd.

The club said:?“The welfare and conservation of the fish are our prime concern and the ban will be lifted as soon as conditions allow.”

As of Sunday, August 19th, the ban has been lifted.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
