Members of The Wye Valley Art Society are looking forward to displaying the work they have created over recent months.

They have been meeting together in various groups and will be displaying some of their results at a social meeting in September, to which everyone is invited. The groups include portraits, still life, outdoor painting and life study. An example of a pen, ink and wash sketch, made at Whitestone near to Llandogo, is shown (right).

The social meeting will take place in The Shire Hall, Monmouth on Tuesday, September 4th between 2pm and 4.30pm. There will be light refreshments, with an opportunity to talk to current members and perhaps also to join the Society and bring in some much needed ‘new blood’. Membership is currently only £5 per annum.

Later in September, the Autumn Exhibition will take place in The Shire Hall, September 27th - September 30th. See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
