The Mayor of Ross-on-Wye, Councillor Jane Roberts, accompanied by her consort, Councillor Chris Bartrum attended a special evening for the members of the Ross-on-Wye Beaver Colony.

They visited their home at the Scout and Guide Headquarters, near to the swimming pool, to reveal the new name.

From now on the First Ross-on-Wye Beavers Colony will be known as The Apaches.

After the special ceremony the Beavers enjoyed a variety of activities under the watchful eye of their leaders. They took part in putting up tents, learnt how to filter dirty water, plan a bridge across a river and how to light a fire using wire wool and a battery.
