THE partnership between John Kyrle High School and the Ross Books Foundation continues to flourish, with the project entering a new and exciting phase.

What began as a simple idea — giving students the chance to choose and own a book of their own — has grown into something truly special.

And now this partnership will enable the school’s library transformed into a vibrant hub for reading, curiosity, and creativity.

Over the past year, dozens of John Kyrle students have discovered the joy of reading, thanks to the Foundation’s generosity and the enduring support of the local community.

This partnership is now evolving further, with the Ross Books Foundation and the school joining forces to create a new kind of library experience.

The vision is to build a space that not only supports learning, but also inspires imagination, empathy, and a lifelong love of books.

Headteacher Julian Morgan said: “Reading has the power to change lives. A single book can open up a world of possibilities — and we want every young person at John Kyrle to experience that.

“This project is about more than literacy; it’s about identity, confidence, and hope.”

This exciting new chapter has been made possible thanks to the remarkable generosity of local supporters including Gill Hinton, Bill Fulp and Rod and Helen Barker, Peter Hird, and Beth Gwynne, all of whom make monthly donations to help bring the vision to life.

Rossiter Books also makes a donation in the form of giving a 20 per cent boost to the money generously donated by the others.

Their ongoing commitment means that more students than ever before will have access to books and spaces that nurture curiosity and ambition.

As the school looks ahead to the next stage of development, it is inviting others to join this growing movement. To support the project, contact [email protected].
