Although local photographer Caz Holbrook was prepared to get up early to get some pictures of the Ross Rowing Cub veterans she did not expect the results to be so exceptional.

Standing on the steps of the Club, with the mist rising off the river, Caz managed to capture atmospheric and evocative pictures showing the iconic view in a different way. A member of the Rowing Club was so delighted with the shots that he sent them to Rowing & Regatta magazine This is the in-house magazine of British Rowing, published nine times a year and sent to all members.

The editor replied saying, 'what a brilliant photo, we'd like to use it' – it was only when the magazine actually came out that Caz realised it was on the cover.

Caz told the Gazette:?"I was very pleased with the photograph - it was taken on Sunday November 6th, I think it's a really iconic image and shouts Ross."

Caz attended Hereford College of Art and Design studying Art, Design and Photography and her work, including wedding photography and portraits can be seen at http://www.cazholbrookphotography.co.uk">www.cazholbrookphotography.co.uk
