Visiting restrictions at Ross Community Hospital wards have been lifted following an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.

It still remains very important that any visitors with diarrhoea and/or vomiting do not visit the hospitals in Herefordshire until they have been free of symptoms for 48 hours.

Visitors are requested to practice good hand hygiene and use the alcohol gels available in all wards/departments.

Michelle Clarke, Director of Nursing & Transformation, at Wye Valley NHS Trust, said: "We wish to thank our patients and visitors for their understanding and to emphasise that these restrictions are in place to protect our patients, as part of a zero tolerance approach to healthcare associated infections".

"We also wish to thank our staff for their continued hard work and vigilance to maintain services during this difficult period and prevent the further spread of the winter vomiting bug".
