A Ross-on-Wye couple have been selected to appear on the popular BBC 1 daytime antiques programme, Bargain Hunt.

The programme, which will be aired at 12.15pm on Monday, December 7th, features Alison and Phil Clarke.

“We were delighted to hear that we had got through the auditions stage,” said Alison. “The first part of the programme was filmed at a huge Antiques Fair at the Royal Welsh showground in Builth Wells, then a few weeks later we were off to an auction house in Shrewsbury to film the actual auction.”

“We were the teamed up with antiques expert Phil Serrell, the other couple with Ben Cooper, and show presenter, Tim Wonnacott, helped both teams to hunt out and buy some antique bargains.”

“We are sworn to secrecy as to how it all worked out in the end but all will be revealed on the show this Monday.”

This isn’t the Clarke family’s first appearance on the small screen. The couple bought their first home together in Upton Bishop following the advice of Kirsty Allsopp and Phil Spencer on Channel 4’s Location, Location, Location and the programme has made several return visits to report on their climb up the property ladder.

Alison and Phil own and run Calendar Lady Promotions, the UK’s biggest independent supplier of promotional calendars and promotional merchandise, in Ross-on-Wye.

The Bargain Hunt programme will be shown on BBC1 TV this Monday 7th December at 12.15pm.
