THERE was success for Ross Fire Crews last weekend at the Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) Rescue Challenge event held in Wychbold.

Three separate challenges took place: the Trauma Challenge, the Extrication Challenge, and the Water Rescue Challenge.

Four teams took part in the Extrication Challenge, a simulated road traffic collision where those competing were given 20 minutes to safely extricate the casualties trapped inside a vehicle. Crews from Ross won this category and they will represent the service at the national championships in the summer.

Station Commander Stuart Crebbin from HWFRS said: "The teams competing in each of the three challenges showed a high level of skill and expertise and I'd like to pass on our thanks to everyone who took part for their hard work and commitment. Congratulations go to the winning teams and we wish them every success as they go forward to represent the Service in the national competition."
