The team at the Ross Gazette were disgusted to discover that the Silent Soldier which they had sponsored for the commemoration of the end of World War I has been stolen.

The Chairman of the Ross and District branch of the Royal British Legion, Graham Aplin, told the Gazette on Tuesday morning about the theft from the Blake Memorial Garden. He suggested that the paper report it to the police but the Gazette is also putting out an appeal for anyone who knows the whereabouts of the metal silhouette, which represents those who did not return home safely from war.You can contact the Gazette on 01989 562007 if believe you know where it is.
