Top Trophy for Ross Junior Captain, Ross!

Ross Golf Club Junior Captain Ross Jenkins who comes from Cinderford finished a very good year's golf by winning the George and Margaret Lane Trophy.

The competition had been cancelled because of the very wet weather during the summer along with many of the club's other matches and competitions and it was rearranged during the school half term holiday. Although the weather during the week had been cold, bright and sunny Wednesday had been very wet and Thursday morning dawned with yet another deep frost.

At a very early eight thirty in the morning ten juniors braved these very cold and wet conditions and played well wrapped up in hats and gloves. However, despite frozen fingers the boys all played well and fielded excellent scores.

The result was very close indeed with Ross's brilliant 22 points on the back nine giving him a win on count-back from Alex Bain both with 39 stableford points. Will Turpin came in third with 37 points and Jake Howells was fourth with 35 points.
