MADAM, After a series of events held throughout the year Ross Gunners All Stars have raised £10,400 in aid of Acorns Children's Hospice and up to another £1,000 is yet to be collected from sponsors. In addition a further £789 was raised from the Ross Gunners All Stars v Aston Villa Old Stars football match held on Sunday 10th October for the Aston Villa Former Players Association.
The fund raisers have met regularly on Tuesday nights at the Man of Ross Inn to plan and organise the entertaining events, which, as well as the football match, have included fancy dress cycle rides, head and beard shaving, race nights and raffles. Other individuals have taken part in marathons, half marathons and tri-athlons to add to the funds.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who supported, sponsored and helped; 98% of the money raised has come from people and businesses in Ross-on-Wye.
