ROSS Juniors u14 finished the season on a high and secured a top four finish in the league.
In their penultimate game they entertained a determined Belmont team dominating possession to take the game 3-0. The early football came from Ross with James and Joel both going close before James crashed home the opener from the edge of the area.
Belmont battled hard but Ross secured a second through Jake taking a two goal advantage into the second half. The pivotal point of the game came in the second, Pat, was equal to the task and produced a superb save after which there could be only one result and Chris headed home a corner to complete the scoring 3-0.
In the final league game Ross played Pegasus and continued their good form with a 2-0 victory. Ross played expansive total football from the off and James, Ollie, Joel and Jake all went close. Jacob and Chris were awesome at the back, supported by the excellent Dexter and Aaron. Kieran (B), Brandon and Sam where a constant threat but despite some good work by Pegasus, Ross were awarded a penalty and Kieran (R) stepped up but was denied by a good save. But not to be denied Ollie played him in and Kieran (R) opened the scoring. Jake was excellent leading the line with Billy a threat on the right. The second half saw Ross peppering the Pegasus goal with Pat a virtual spectator but despite all the pressure only managed one more goal from Jake whose cool finish secured the win.
It has been an up and down season but Ross have had a strong finish with some excellent performance from all the improving squad which bodes well for a successful U15 season.
