The Ross Meeting Centre’s (RMC) Open Afternoon was in full swing on Wednesday, October 25th.
The RMC’s aim is for those with mild to moderate dementia to socialise and participate with their carers in a variety of activities, including mental and physical exercise, reminiscence, crafts, music and outings.
Carers also have the benefit of socialising with other carers, as well as the opportunity on occasion to meet health care professionals and others who may be able to support them in their caring role.
The Open Afternoon from 11am-3pm was well supported, with local representatives and visitors from many other churches and organisations, as well as current members and carers of the Meeting Centre.
Tea and cake was provided, while current members and their carers took part in activities, and visitors socialised.
Information was also on display, along with a raffle, with kind donations from Simply Stunning Hair and Beauty, The Royal Hotel, Pots and Pieces and Ross Garden Centre, as well as chocolates and toiletries etc.
Weekly sessions run at Christ Church, Edde Cross Street, Ross-on-Wye, with sessions taking place between 11am and 3pm.
