Made in Ross, the artist’s collective based in the Market House, Ross-on-Wye, are delighted to welcome their new guest exhibitor, Linda Woolf.
Linda has lived in Ross-on-Wye for over 25 years, and for the last five years, she has turned to art as an interest.
Having not picked up a paintbrush since her school days, getting back into such a creative activity was both exciting and daunting. Evening classes and art workshops started the ball rolling and watercolour was the first approach, followed by pastel.
She has found Puzzlewood an amazing place, brimming with inspiration. She took photographs and those with boldest shapes and most contrasting light and shade were chosen to capture in a combination of watercolour and pastel.
Not an easy task, but approached using strong lines and vibrant colours, in addition to the shades of green.
Pastels give a textured effect that help to portray the textures found in nature and the bold colours echo those that can be found in Puzzlewood.
Linda’s exhibition will be on display in the Market House from August 1st to the 31st.
