The Hill Top Birds of Prey Experience, based in Llangarron near Ross-on-Wye, have rescued a Harris Hawk, that they believe is female and they are hoping to return it to their owner.

On their Facebook page, the specialists at Hill Top Birds of Prey wrote: "This is a non-native bird, and must have an owner somewhere who is probably very worried."

Mike Hill from Hill Top Birds of Prey told the Ross Gazette that a family in Hereford had managed to trap the hawk, after it was attacking their chickens.

It was taken to Hill Top Birds of Prey yesterday (Tuesday, December 13th). She is not being kept in the cat carrier, as shown in the picture. She is relaxed and comfortable, in a suitably-sized aviary.

Mike told the Ross Gazette that is currently waiting to see if the hawk is microchipped and he hopes that she returned home soon.
