The Ross Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded The Lister Cup. This is a national award, given by the head office of the RBL to the most progressive and efficient branch in the whole of the British Legion.

Margaret Jones, Secretary told the Ross Gazette that it is a very prestigious award, adding that she is very, very proud. She said it was the first time the cup has been awarded to any RBL?branch in Herefordshire.

At the Annual County Conference, Ross branch were also awarded the Kyrle Pope Cup, awarded to the most effective branch in the County, for the fifth consecutive year, and the The Major Green Challenge Cup, for the highest percentage increase in membership.

Graham Aplin, Chairman of Ross RBL?added that it has been a very successful few years for the branch, and they have been awarded several trophies. As they did not have anywhere to display them Brighterkinds Ross Court Care Home donated a trophy cabinet. This has been installed in the Coach House of the Royal Hotel so that the members of Ross RBL?now have somewhere to proudly display their many awards.
