Three generations of a Ross-on-Wye family took part in the Big Spring Walk together, on Sunday, March 13th, in memory of a loved one, who lost her battle with cancer, more than 20 years ago.

Margaret Lerego, her children Hannah, Alex, and Felix, and her granddaughter Olivia, walked the 11km Big Spring Walk in memory of Margaret’s mother, Betty Sleeman. Although Betty never accessed St Michael’s Hospice, the family know many who have.

Hannah Lerego told the Ross Gazette:?“It was a brilliant day, helped by gorgeous weather and a very enthusiastic and supportive crowd of walkers. It was lovely to walk through the beautiful Herefordshire countryside and all for an excellent cause.

“We finished well within our anticipated time allowing us to enjoy the entertainment afterwards. So far we have raised £265 and we would like to thank all our sponsors very much indeed.”

Hannah visited the hospice in January to deliver the proceeds from the Ross-on-Wye Christmas Fayre. She was impressed when she saw the new refit, and she had the opportunity to learn more about how the charity continues to support numerous local families.
