Hair stylist Chloe Heath-Byard, who works at Reds Hair Company in Ross-on-Wye, is thrilled to have won the regional final of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Star Award.

On Wednesday, April 12th, Chloe, and her colleague Daisy Biggin were at Aston Villa, Birmingham for one of the biggest hairdressing competitions in the UK. Chloe was thrilled to win the Star award for an individual colourist aged between 18 – 24 years.

More than 50 of the Midlands' brightest, fashion focused hairdressers competed in three categories in the Midlands heat of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Awards.

Chloe will now go on to take part in the L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2017 Grand Final to be held in London on June 5th.

The competitors only had 30 minutes to create their fashion inspired, flawless winning look to impress the elite group of judges.

Chloe told the Ross Gazette that she has not really taken in the achievement. She said she was nervous about entering as you can only enter the competition once, so it was important to do well.

Chloe explained that she had to send in a photographic entry and create a mood board. Then she was interviewed by four famous hairdressers.

She said this was nerve wracking as they asked quite searching questions, such as her opinion on the use of hair colour in the fashion industry. She said she cannot see colour ever not being on-trend as people often want to try something different.

Chloe, who is 21, has worked at Reds since 2012, she joined straight from school and also took a hairdressing course at school as one of her options.
