Ross-on-Wye Lions Club members are always looking for ways to make a difference in the local community. The group heard that local young people had been desperate to have mirrors put into their dance area so they could see fully their technique and corrections.
Having heard of the hard work and dedication of these youngsters, the Lions were happy to be able to contribute £250 in order to help towards the funding of these mirrors for the dance group at Tudorville and District Community Centre.
The idea for the mirrors came first from Sarah Crumpton and the young people attending her dance sessions at TDCC, “Sarah’s Performance Academy”. The group had already done some fund-raising themselves and are very grateful for the support of their parents who provided some much needed donations too! At a recent presentation, youngsters from Sarah’s Performance Academy showed some of their moves to Lion Vice-President Fiona, shown here with Lions Andy and Don. Everyone at TDCC wants to thank Ross on Wye Lions for their generous donation and their interest in the work that is being done at the Centre.
If there are any other ideas that local people have about how to support groups and individuals in the Ross Community, they can get in touch with Ross Lions. There are contact details on the club’s website, www.rossonwyelions.org, where it is possible to see more about what the Lions Club is, what they do and how to join.
