The Ross Community Litter Clean Up Crew held a ‘Womble’ at Walford on Sunday, March 3rd. Despite the weather conditions, four members of the group litter picked their way around Walford. There were not many other people out and about but they managed to collect approximately 30kgs of rubbish. The haul included a slow cooker and a headboard.

The school has had its grass cut, which meant discarded cans have become sharp dangerous metal spikes for children to be playing near and these were collected safely.

The next litter pick will take place on March 10th, meet at the junction of Brampton Road and Greytree for a green space spring clean.

Then on Sunday, March 17th meet at the bandstand for clean up around the Caroline Symonds Garden area. All ages are welcome.

The litter pick on Sunday, March 24th will not be suitable for younger pickers as it will be a clean up of the Gateway to the Wye. Park and meet at the KFC car park.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
