James Weatherhead will be taking part in his final event for this year raising funds for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, Herefordshire Branch.
Last October James took part in the Cardiff Half Marathon and his final challenge for this year is the same event.
James has been involved with the Royal British Legion since 1997, and he continues to be an active member of the Ross Branch.
He set a target of £600 for the year and is already up to £420. He said, “I just want to raise as much money as I can for a very good cause.
James is a familiar face to many in Ross-on-Wye, he is a retired postman and former Ross Parish Councillor. He said if you wish to sponsor James and help the RBL then you are sure to be able to contact him in person.
James told the Ross Gazette, “This is my way of supporting those who have lost their lives in all conflicts, it is very important to let younger people know that we remember all those who have fallen.”
James will be running alongside nine other members of the Royal British Legion team who come from various places around the UK to take part in this event.
