Katherine Williams set herself a personal challenge at the start of 2016, to take part in eight events in support of St Michael’s Hospice and to complete them in just four months

Katherine, her daughter, Ella, and her mother, Elisabeth were always very close but after Elisabeth was diagnosed with cancer they developed an even tighter bond.

Katherine is very grateful to all the help and support her mother, and the family received from the Hospice, so in return she set up a just giving page and tackled the first of her challenges.

Her first event was the St Michael’s Big Walk (2km) on March 13th, which she completed alongside her daughter, Ella.

Then the challenges got bigger and more physical and included long distance bike rides which was something new for Katherine.

They included a Gung Ho Fun Run with Ella and Kim Pope in Cardiff, the St Michael’s Hospice 5km Paint Runner with Ella, Aparna and Robert Lane. Together with her niece, Lissy Williams, Katherine also tackled the Race for Life, Pretty Muddy in Cheltenham. Her last event was the St Michael’s Hospice Wheelie Big Cycle in Hereford where she completed 30 miles.

Katherine has already had lots of donations and is hoping to smash her target of £1,000.
