The band of Ross-on-Wye pensioners who challenged themselves to tackle the Three Peaks, recently completed their main training session.

They went on an evening walk of The Malvern Hills, which they achieved, end to end, in four and a half hours. They then drove to North Wales, preparing for a dawn trek, up and down Snowdon, which they completed in four and half hours.

This weekend they feel ready to attempt the real thing – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within a 24 hour period.

The Ross Gazette wishes them luck and reminds readers they can follow their progress from 5pm this Saturday, July 2nd on our Facebook page, where they will be posting regular updates.

If you can contribute to the charities they are raising funds for, The Little Princess Trust, The Friends of St Mary’s or The Motor Neurone Disease Association please visit their JustGiving page.
