A Ross-on-Wye photographer is the man behind the lens of a new calendar featuring women who were prepared to brave the elements at Big Pit Mining Museum in support of a new Breast Care Unit, which is scheduled to open in 2020.
The Unit, situated at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr Hospital, will serve all of the Greater Gwent area and is described by the Board as a ‘Centre of Excellence where every breast care patient, male or female, has the best possible state of the art care.’
While the new facility will be funded by Aneurin Bevan Health Board, the calendar will be sold as part of a fundraising drive to buy additional items that the NHS is unable to provide.
Kenneth Barnett, of Ross Photoz photography, is thrilled at how well the sales of the calendar are going.
He told the Ross Gazette that it is the best thing he has ever done, and since having a health scare ten years ago he has been determined to do his bit to help others who are facing difficulties with their health.
For more information, visit www.justgiving.com type in Aneurin Bevan and follow instructions, highlighting fund F303 so the money gets allocated to the correct fund.
Kenneth knows all of the ladies who took part through his stall at Pontypool market.
Kenneth said: “Well, what a 14 months it has been. Finally the calendars are done. It is the proudest thing I have ever done. I must thank all the ladies, plus the Big Pit for making it possible. They are £6.00 each and every penny will be going to the New Breast Care Unit.”
