Ross & District Royal British Legion Branch members have been busy this week congratulating groups within the community who have been collecting money for the Poppy Appeal.
At the Branch Meeting, 1st Bridstow Girl Guides handed over Smartie Tubes containing coppers they had collected (they had all been given a tube and once they had eaten the chocolates were asked to re-fill them).
Ross Horizon Adult Centre make 165 felt poppies, some of which they handed to the RBL to sell on their stalls, others which they sold on their stalls at events during 2018.
Members popped down to their headquarters last Thursday to collect the money they had amassed from their own sales and to see the other craft work they do to raise their own funds.
Both Community Groups received Certificates of thanks from the RBL Branch.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
