Mr Bryan Powell was the lucky winner of this year’s Ross Gazette competition for a turkey.

The fresh turkey was supplied by Cornwalls Family Butchers on Broad Street, Ross.

Mr Powell collected his prize from butcher Tim Hanks on the Friday before Christmas.

Tim, who took over the popular butchers in Ross-on-Wye earlier this year, has already been winning awards and Cornwalls was recognised for their contributions to the cooking and eating of game meat.

The Eat Game Awards is an exciting initiative aimed at celebrating all that is best about wild British produce by recognising great culinary achievements.
