Hayley Pritchard has organised an advent calendar of gifts, for those who find painted rocks that are hidden in Ross-on-Wye.

Hayley said: “When I heard about the idea of painting rocks and hiding them to be found, I jumped on board. What a great way to entertain the children for free I thought.

“My son and I have had so much fun and found them in the Forest of Dean, Dover, Wales and at theme parks we have visited throughout the summer.

“We moved to Ross last year and I looked to see if there was a Ross Rocks group and there wasn’t, so I started one.”

Hayley and her son Joseph have painted 24 stones, and created an advent calendar of gifts. “Everytime a stone is found, we will open the door relating to the number and give the gift to the person who found the stone and posted it to the Facebook page.”

The gifts range from tubs of sweets, selection boxes, cuddly toys, and even £50 to spend.

Shelley Gwilliam from Everybody Fitness has also donated a free exercise class to the parent of every child that finds a painted rock.

Hayley said: I was overwhelmed by Shelley’s kindness and generosity. I’ve also had a reiki session offered as a prize from a lady called Faye Bradbury, as well as Michelle Jones from the Christmas shop in Ross.”

Hayley will be hiding the rocks on Thursday, December 7th and will post pictures of clues to help local residents find them.

There will be one gift per number, and they must photograph themselves with the rock and post it to the Ross Rocks Facebook page, and Hayley will then arrange to get a gift to them.

“I am being messaged lots by people who have said they are being inspired by my post. People are so lovely,” she added.
