Three children from Weston under Penyard and Whitchurch CE Primary Schools took part in a very special day on Wednesday, April 25th.
They were among the winners of art and wrting competitions organised in connection with the Poppies: Weeping Window sculpture at Hereford Cathedral.
They were invited to join other schoolchildren from across the county for the visit by HRH The Countess of Wessex. She visited Hereford on Wednesday to experience the iconic sculpture, by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper, and the county’s Home Front Herefordshire campaign.Riley Thomas (Weston under Penyard) was runner up in the art competition whilst Riley Knapman- Jefferies and Harrison Long were winners of the writing and art competitions respectively.
